Aroania

Aroania (Greek: "Αροάνια") is a municipality in the Achaea prefecture, Greece. The municipal population is 2,551 (2001 census). The seat of administration is in the town Psofida. The municipality is named after the village and the mountain.

Aroania has schools, a few lyceums (middle school) a gymnasium (secondary school), churches, banks, shops and a square ("plateia"). Its nearest university are northwest with the University of Patras and southeast with the University of Peloponnese (secondary), its hospital is in Patras or Aigio.
