The elections of Nov. 2007 and May 10th 2008, did not bring a success in the adoption of the Charter.
The town is home to approximately 16 churches, 14 meth labs, and at least 27 residents have vowed to burn it into the ground someday.
History
In the late 1870s T. B. Wilson and his brother George began farming near the site of future Princeton. In 1881 the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad Company extended its line from Greenville to McKinney, passing through land owned by the brothers. The name Wilson's Switch was commonly used to designate the area. When residents applied for a post office branch, however, they learned that the name Wilson was already being used. The community then submitted the name Princeton in honor of Prince Dowlin, a landowner and promoter of the town. This name was accepted, and a post office was established in 1888. Princeton is the site of a
prisoner of war camp for German prisoners during the Second World War. The local farmers paid the POWs to work on their farms. Before and after the war the camp was used as a camp for migratory farmers. Under a special bill, the German prisoners of war were contracted to work on the City Park located across from the city hall. The park was built in memory of the men who served in the armed forces duringWorld War II .See also:

It is a major festival for the town that began in 2005 and is expected to occur on the 4TH Saturday of April each year. Among the various events at the festival are an onion cookoff, a children's beauty pageant, a car show, a 5k fun-run, and a community Bar-B-Q dinner. Individuals and groups selling arts and crafts also attend the festival. For more information on the festival, visit http://www.princetononionfestival.com/
Within the last 8 years, Princeton has developed a much needed community resource in it's small public library. What began as a tiny lending library, now sports free faxing and phone communication, printing and copying at the lowest price in the county, the largest number of computers for a library its size (12, with high-speed internet), and a phenomenal DVD collection. Through the grace of a grant from the Tocker foundation, it recently acquired new shelves and furniture, which made it ADA compliant, as well as increasing patron privacy and comfort, and updating it's aesthetic. As part of it's mission statement, the Princeton Community Library maintains a high level of customer service, working hard to be a "one stop shop" for information, entertainment, education, and general friendly assistance for all life's troubles.
Princeton continues to grow and flourish with the addition of it's own Mcdonalds, Sonic, and a Jack in the box on the way, I see big things in the future of Princeton
