The population was 340 at the 2000 census.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 28.7 square miles (74.4 km²), of which, 28.7 square miles (74.3 km²) of it is land and 0.03% is water.
Demographics
As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 340 people, 130 households, and 91 families residing in the township. The population density was 11.8 people per square mile (4.6/km²). There were 264 housing units at an average density of 9.2/sq mi (3.6/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 97.94% White, 0.59% Native American, 0.29% from other races, and 1.18% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.76% of the population.
There were 130 households out of which 30.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.2% were married couples living together, 4.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.0% were non-families. 26.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.62 and the average family size was 3.12.
In the township the population was spread out with 26.2% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 25.6% from 25 to 44, 28.2% from 45 to 64, and 12.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 113.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 116.4 males.
The median income for a household in the township was $33,125, and the median income for a family was $35,625. Males had a median income of $30,250 versus $30,625 for females. The per capita income for the township was $15,129. About 5.1% of families and 9.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 6.3% of those under age 18 and 10.3% of those age 65 or over.
