Little Meadows is a borough in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 290 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Little Meadows is located at coor dms|41|59|27|N|76|8|1|W|city (41.990869, -76.133521)GR|1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 2.3 square miles (5.9 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 290 people, 125 households, and 83 families residing in the borough. The population density was 127.5 people per square mile (49.3/km²). There were 131 housing units at an average density of 57.6/sq mi (22.3/km²). The racial makeup of the borough was 97.93% White, 0.69% Asian, and 1.38% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.69% of the population.

There were 125 households out of which 20.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.0% were married couples living together, 4.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.8% were non-families. 26.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.32 and the average family size was 2.85.

In the borough the population was spread out with 19.0% under the age of 18, 5.2% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 36.6% from 45 to 64, and 14.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 45 years. For every 100 females there were 104.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 106.1 males.

The median income for a household in the borough was $40,500, and the median income for a family was $44,821. Males had a median income of $27,125 versus $19,205 for females. The per capita income for the borough was $18,703. About 9.9% of families and 11.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 18.2% of those under the age of eighteen and none of those sixty five or over.
