Maple Glen is a census-designated place (CDP) in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 6,742 at the 2010 census.

Geography

Maple Glen is located at 40°10′31″N 75°10′48″W / 40.17528°N 75.18°W / 40.17528; -75.18 (40.175358, -75.180131)[1].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.1 square miles (8.0 km2), all of it land.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 7,042 people, 2,319 households, and 1,971 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 2,273.4 people per square mile (877.1/km²). There were 2,349 housing units at an average density of 758.3/sq mi (292.6/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 92.25% White, 2.12% African American, 0.16% Native American, 4.57% Asian, 0.31% from other races, and 0.60% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.46% of the population.

There were 2,319 households out of which 47.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 75.0% were married couples living together, 7.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 15.0% were non-families. 12.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.01 and the average family size was 3.31.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 31.6% under the age of 18, 4.8% from 18 to 24, 30.7% from 25 to 44, 23.1% from 45 to 64, and 9.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 98.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.3 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $80,076, and the median income for a family was $80,760. Males had a median income of $57,196 versus $36,875 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $33,058. About 1.4% of families and 1.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 1.7% of those under age 18 and 3.7% of those age 65 or over.
