The Hot Digital Songs chart ranks the best-selling digital singles in the United States, according to Billboard.
Beginning in February 2005, digital sales have been incorporated into many of Billboard's music single charts. It was decided to do so mainly because of the dramatic rise in popularity of the digital market while commercial single sales were becoming negligible.[1] The chart has had 107 number one songs and its current number one as of the issue dated November 26, 2011, is "We Found Love" by Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris.[2]

- Lady Gaga's song "Born This Way" holds the record for the largest debut for a female artist with sales of 448,000 digital downloads in its first week of release with three days only in sale.[13]
- Miley Cyrus is the youngest female artist to debut at number one with 226,000 downloads with her song "Party in the USA". It also holds the record for most weeks at #1 without topping the Hot 100.[14]
- Katy Perry is the first artist in digital history to top 300K in weekly sales with four different songs. She has done it with "Hot N Cold," "California Gurls," "Firework" and "E.T." [15]
- The Black Eyed Peas' song "Boom Boom Pow" holds the record for the largest debut/overall sales week for a group for a digital song with 465,000 downloads.[16]
- Michael Jackson is the only artist to sell over one million downloads in one week.
- Katy Perry holds the record for most digital number-ones from one album, with five. From her album Teenage Dream: "California Gurls," "Teenage Dream," "Firework," "E.T." and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" have all topped the chart.
