The Katara Pass or the Metsovo Pass (Greek: Κατάρα) is a mountain pass and a mountaintop in Greece that is located south of the Aoos river and southeast of the Pineios river and divides Epirus and Thessaly and the Ioannina and the Trikala prefectures in which the divide follows partly. Its elevation is about 1,746 m (5,728 ft) making it one of the highest in the nation. It is crossed by the Pindus ranges and from that distance there is no major highway within the distance of 50 to 100 km that is the GR-6 (Larissa - Trikala - Ioannina - Igoumenitsa) and the GR-38, the GR-30 is a little narrow and poor and had its improved its construction, its nearest minor road is in the Karditsa and the Evrytania prefectures. Tire chains are used every winter and at the time traffic was at its peak between the 1960s and the 1980s, notably the early 2000s. With the opening of the Metsovo Tunnel in the 1980s and since 2004 and 2005 connected with the rest of the Egnatia Odos, traffic had sharply declined.

The pass are surrounded with pine and spruce trees, it is one of several pass that has lamp posts along the highway. It offers views of the Aoos and the Pineios valleys as well as the surrounding mountains.
