These snails are found intertidally to deep water.

These snails have large shells with a tall spire and a long flexuous
siphonal canal . The operculum is leaf-shaped with an incurved terminal nucleus. Theprotoconch is tall, cylindrical, of 2.5 to 3.5 smooth whorls. Theradula formula is 1+1+1, with both the central and the lateral teethtricuspid .pecies in the genus "Penion"
