The shell is large and solid, with a tall narrow spire but a suddenly enlarged
body whorl . The whorls are strongly angled medially, bearing prominent bluntly rounded nodes, ten on the penultimate. Surface sculpture is fine and even.The external shell coloration is buff, diffused with pale orange-brown. The aperture callus is pinkish-white.
The shell height is up to 154 mm, and width up to 65 mm.
