"Penion benthicolus delli" is a subspecies of large predatory sea snail or true whelk, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Buccinidae, the true whelks.

Distribution

This subspecies is endemic to the North Island of New Zealand.

Habitat

This whelk lives at depths of between 670 and 870 m.

hell description

The shell has coarser sculpture and less twisted siphonal canal than "Penion benthicolus benthicolus".

The shell height is up to 102 mm, and width up to 38 mm.
