Geography
Brightwaters is located at coor dms|40|43|17|N|73|15|57|W|city (40.721442, -73.265869)GR|1. It contains Wohseepee Park and the Brightwaters Canal. Also there are four lakes next to Montauk Highway, and the businesses are located at the intersection of Windsor Avenue and Orinoco.

United States Census Bureau , the village has a total area of 1.0square mile s (2.7km² ), of which, 1.0 square miles (2.5 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (3.88%) is water.Demographics

census GR|2 of 2000, there were 3,248 people, 1,127 households, and 912 families residing in the village. Thepopulation density was 3,299.2 people per square mile (1,279.7/km²). There were 1,144 housing units at an average density of 1,162.0/sq mi (450.7/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 95.23% White, 1.57% African American, 0.06% Native American, 1.29% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 0.65% from other races, and 1.14% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.06% of the population.There were 1,127 households out of which 38.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 71.8% were married couples living together, 6.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.0% were non-families. 14.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.87 and the average family hi size was 3.20.
In the village the population was spread out with 27.3% under the age of 18, 5.0% from 18 to 24, 28.8% from 25 to 44, 27.2% from 45 to 64, and 11.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 93.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.7 males.
