The N6 crosses the Orange River on the General Hertzog Bridge at Aliwal North

The road starts in East London in the Eastern Cape and ends in Bloemfontein in the Free State. The road runs roughly from north to south, providing a link between the coastal N2 with the N1. The N6 is the main route between East London and Bloemfontein
