The Burlington-South Burlington Metropolitan Statistical Area, as defined by the
United States Census Bureau , is an area consisting of three counties in northwesternVermont , anchored by the cities of Burlington and South Burlington and containing four of Vermont's nine cities. As of the 2000 census, the MSA had a population of 198,889 (though a July 1, 2007 estimate placed the population at 207,361).
