United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 42.2square mile s (109.3km² ), of which, 42.2 square miles (109.3 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.05%) is water.Demographics
As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 1,388 people, 495 households, and 376 families residing in the town. Thepopulation density was 32.9 people per square mile (12.7/km²). There were 550 housing units at an average density of 13.0/sq mi (5.0/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 97.55% White, 0.58% African American, 0.50% Native American, and 1.37% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.50% of the population.There were 495 households out of which 39.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.8% were married couples living together, 8.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.0% were non-families. 17.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.80 and the average family size was 3.15.
In the town the population was spread out with 28.4% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 30.3% from 25 to 44, 24.9% from 45 to 64, and 9.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 105.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.0 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $37,059, and the median income for a family was $40,833. Males had a median income of $29,688 versus $19,545 for females. The
