Hebron is a town in Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 459 at the 2000 census.

History

Hebron was formed in 1791 from a portion of the extinct township of Cockermouth and from a portion of what was then called West Plymouth. Most of the early settlers of Hebron came from New England towns, with no known first generation emigrants from Europe. Primarily a farming town at first, other industries grew up with the building of the Mayhew Turnpike in 1803, which connected the northern towns and lumber harvesting with the southern cities and mills. By the 1920s, tourism developed into a major town occupation, including summer lodges and winter skiing.cite web |title=A Brief History of Hebron, NH |url=http://www.hebronhistsoc.org/html/history.html |first=Ron |last=Collins |accessdate=2007-05-28]
