London Borough of Hounslow , in westLondon , and is inTravelcard Zone 4 . It is 19 km (12 km) south west ofLondon Waterloo and the station and all trains serving it are operated bySouth West Trains .A temporary station was located east of Wood Lane to allow a service to run until the bridge, embankment and present station were completed. The station was originally known as Smallberry Green until renamed in
1850 .Platform length at Isleworth is constrained by a bridge over a road at both ends, selective door opening is required for recent longer stock (unlike 8-car slam-door trains which fitted). Present door selection appears coarse and limited to disabling half the coaches.
Hounslow Council has proposed that the
Hounslow Loop Line be part of theCrossrail route, which would seeCrossrail trains calling at Isleworth station. [ [http://www.hounslow.gov.uk/crossrail.pdf A4 ] ] At present this proposal looks unlikely to be included in the final route expected to be presented to Parliament in2008 . This does not, however, rule out a future extension.Isleworth station is unmanned.
Services
The typical off-peak service from the station is six trains per hour to London Waterloo — four via Brentford and two via Hounslow and Richmond — and two trains per hour to Weybridge westbound.
