This is a Chinese Indonesian name; the family name is Mananta.
Daniel Mananta (born August 14, 1981 in Jakarta, Indonesia) is a Chinese Indonesian television host, VJ and actor. He's best known as a VJ for MTV Indonesia since 2003. Mananta hosts Indonesian Idol and was one of the host on the Asian Idol show in 2007 for the first time held in Indonesia. He started to host the show since the 3rd season replacing Irgi Ahmad Fahrezi in 2006.
Daniel studied as a boarder at Aquinas College in Perth, Australia and went on to graduate from Edith Cowan University in Perth, Australia. He speaks English very fluently.[1] replacing Meuthia Kasim.
Mananta also starred in many Indonesian soap opera including I Love U Boss. He recently played a major role in Indonesian first thriller movie, "Rumah Dara" released in 2010.[2]
