Martin & King was a manufacturing company based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The company specialised in car[1] and railway[2] coachwork.
History
The company was initially based in the Melbourne suburb of Armadale from at least 1948[3], later opening a plant for railway stock at Clayton in the 1950s. In 1959 a new plant was opened at Somerton[4], which was provided with its own railway siding. The company became part of Clyde Engineering in 1960,[4] which is currently part of Downer EDI Rail.
