The MLB has the
Los Angeles Dodgersand the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Currently it consists of teams in the NBA, which are the
Los Angeles Clippersand the Los Angeles Lakers. In the WNBA, it contains the Los Angeles Sparks. In the NBA D-League, it contains Los Angeles D-fenders.
In time present, there is no NFL in
Los Angeles. But, there is the AFL which has the Los Angeles Avengers.
In the NHL, it has the
Los Angeles Kingsand the Anaheim Ducks, thanks to their presence in the Greater Los Angelesarea with the Angels.
The MLL has the
Los Angeles Riptide.
In the MLS, it consists of the
Los Angeles Galaxyand Chivas USA. In the WPS, a newly established league for women, there is a currently team referred team as the Los Angeles WPS team. In the hispanic community, there is a great fan basis for Mexican soccer teams. The most popular of the soccer squads are Chivas and América, who have developed a bitter sports rivalryknown as El Clásico, similar to the Dodgers-Giants Rivalry.
NCAA, the two most famous schools in Los Angeles are the USC Trojansand the UCLA Bruins, which both schools have successful college football teams.

The Los Angeles Galaxy, Chivas USA, and the Los Angeles Riptidehost their home games at the Home Depot Center. Meanwhile, the Anaheim Ducksplay at the Honda Center, formerly known as the Arrowhead Pond Of Anaheim.
NFLhad a great presence with the Rams and Raiders being in Los Angeles. The American Football Leaguealso had a presence with the Chargers, now part of the NFL. Los Angelescurrently is looking for a new stadium to attract the NFLback to the City of Angels.
Former soccer franchises
Los Angeles Wolveswere a member of the United Soccer Association, starting its first season in 1967. The Los Angeles Torosof the National Professional Soccer Leaguealso started its first season in 1967. When both leagues merged to form the North American Soccer League, the Wolves remained in Los Angeleswhile the Toros relocated and became the San Diego Torosin 1968. When the first season ended, both teams folded. Later, the NASL returned a team in Los Angeles by establishing the Los Angeles Aztecsin 1974. Once more, the Aztecs folded in 1981. In 1990, the A-League was established thus two teams were joined the league in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Heatand California Emperors. By the end of the season, both team folded. Later, the Los Angeles Salsaof the A-League was established in 1993, but folded in 1994.
