Schuyler Flatts in or near Menands, New York is an archeological district on the floodplain of the Hudson River just north of Albany. It shows remains of 6,000 years of human history in the area. From Dutch colonial times, the history includes that of indentured servants. The site included the Colonie, New York home of a Schuyler family, the General Philip Schuyler House. This Schuyler property was cut through by the Erie Canal. It became a National Historic Landmark in 1993.
