(7)"Makes Me Happy" is a song by an American artist/actor, Drake Bell. The song is his second single from his second studio album, It's Only Time.
It was heard on Drake's TEENick's original movie, Drake & Josh: Really Big Shrimp. The fictional producers in the movie told Drake that it had approximately 300,000 Internet downloads in the US. One of the producers told him, "You got a number one hit. There were so many downloads, it crashed our server." In the movie, the song has some different lyrics than the album version, and is much shorter, and cuts off the ending without the humming.
The song was actually originally used as score music for the Nickelodeon show Zoey 101 and some of it was sung in the Zoey 101 episode "Quinn's Alpaca" by Backhouse Mike, and he liked the way it sounded and made it a full length song.
This song was heard on Radio Disney and the XM satellite station, "XM Hitlist", as well as other radio stations. The song was finally released as a digital single to iTunes on October 16, 2007, in the form of a Radio Disney Edit that contains different lyrics than the album cut and also different than the cut used in Drake & Josh: Really Big Shrimp.

Chart performance
The song managed to make the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart in August 2007, by debuting at #3 (equivalent to #103 if the Billboard Hot 100). As a result, the song became Drake Bell's first charting single on any Billboard chart in his career. The song also made a brief appearance on the Billboard Pop 100 chart, peaking at number 67.
Following the song's popularity and rotation on Radio Disney, Bell's record label finally released the song as a digital single (the Radio Disney Edit), the third version of the song to be released.
