Grand Prix Racing Online, usually shortened to "GPRO", is a massively-multiplayer online Grand Prix management simulator. It has around 30,000 registered users as of July 2008, of which 5100 are active.

Organization

Grand Prix Racing Online was created by a group of dedicated players of F1 manager web games. The game is loosely based on past gaming experiences, incorporating the concepts, knowledge and experience of previous (classic) F1 manager games.

The gamme is a copy of [http://www.f1portal.net F1portal.net] .The admins of GPRO are old cheaters and was banned of F1portal, and now only know copy all ideas of original game.

GPRO can be played without cost for the individual user, since it is free to sign up and get a team. There is also a possibility to pay a supporter fee for extra features. These features do not give an advantage in gameplay, but are merely some extras, such as more car liveries or race commentary.

Leagues

GPRO is divided into five levels of groups. Apart from the Elite group, inside each level there are several groups which consist of a maximum of 40 managers.

Elite - The top level, which is a single group consisting of the 40 most successful managers.

Master - Consists of four groups.

Pro - Consists of sixteen groups.

Amateur - Consists of thirty-two groups.

Rookie - Consists of ninety-six groups.

The top 4 managers from each group advance to the next level (apart from amateur where the top 8 managers advanve) at the end of each season. Accordingly, the 16 weakest managers drop down a level.

Because of the limited starting places in the game, a newly registered manager must first go through the waiting list before getting his team. The waiting list is updated after each race, when unused accounts are removed to make space for new managers.

Languages

The main language of GPRO and its forums is English, but the rules have been translated already into the following languages:

Bulgarian, Chinese, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak and Spanish.

The gameplay

Each new user will start in one of the Rookie groups, the lowest level in the game. He will receive $30,000,000, a standard (and pretty bad) driver, and a level 1 car if he joins before the first race of the season, otherwise his money will be reduced depending on the number of races left in the season.

The object of the game is to win races and achieve promotion to a higher level. This can be achieved with a good driver or a good car, but usually a well-balanced combination is required. Race strategy and car setups are also an important part of the game.

The points system is the official Formula 1 point scoring system where managers in positions 1-8 get 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 points respectively.

Before each race, a manager can update his car and do testing, if he likes. To participate in a race, he must take part in the qualifying session. Before qualifying, he can set up his car during an 8-lap practice session. After the qualifying, he can confirm the strategy for the race. Different tyre compounds and fuel loads play a big part in race tactics.

After each race, the participating managers are paid prize money according to their finishing and qualifying position. Sponsormoney can also be paid, if a manager has any sponsordeals confirmed. Driver and staff salary are being paid after races, but the biggest expenses come from updating the worn car parts into new ones.

Managing your economy is one of the most challenging parts of GPRO and new managers can find it very hard to stay on positive balance at first.

Drivers, Technical Directors and Staff

Each driver has a total of 11 attributes and some of them can be improved by training. Most of the skills are rated between zero and 250 and represented by coloured bars ranging from red to green.
*Concentration
*Talent
*Aggressiveness
*Experience
*Technical insight
*Stamina
*Charisma
*Motivation
*Reputation
*Weight(kg)
*Age

These attributes are summed up to form an "Overall" attribute, which defines which drivers are available to which levels of managers:

* Managers in Master groups cannot offer contracts to drivers with overall higher than 160
* Managers in Amateur groups cannot offer contracts to drivers with overall higher than 120
* Managers in Rookie groups cannot offer contracts to drivers with overall higher than 85

Each driver has a salary, which is paid after each race. The salary may include bonuses for a podium finish, for example.

Managers who are in groups Pro and above can hire a technical director.

Each Technical Director has a total of 8 attributes. Most of the skills are rated between zero and 250 and represented by coloured bars ranging from red to green.
*Leadership
*R&D mechanics
*R&D electronics
*R&D aerodynamics
*Pit coordination
*Motivation
*Age

These attributes are summed up to form an "Overall" attribute, which defines which technical director are available to which levels of managers:

* Managers in Master groups cannot offer contracts to technical directors with overall higher than 120
* Managers in Pro groups cannot offer contracts to technical directors with overall higher than 90
* Managers in Rookie and Amateur groups cannot hire technical directors

Each technical director has a salary, which is paid after each race. The salary may include bonuses for a podium finish, for example.

Drivers and Technical Directors can be bought from the driver market. Each manager can only have one driver and a car at a time. The buying of drivers takes place through a bidding system, with staff markets being held each Monday and Thursday.

Staff plays a role in different areas, such as pitstops and the staff's skills can be trained. There are also different facilities to buy, which can help development of car parts or training of staff etc.

The Races

Races are held every Tuesday and Friday at 20:00 CET, during the 17 race season. The race screen is a graphical representation of the events that took place after each lap. The page will update once every two minutes, revealing the actions of that lap. There is also a light text version available for mobile phones. The races can be replayed at a later date, so it is not necessary to always watch the races live.

Teams

Teams in GPRO can be founded only by managers in Amateur level or higher, although Rookie managers can join a team. A team can consist of up to ten different managers, who work together to exchange data and talk about race strategies.
