Wagler, 1830The Chaco Chachalaca (Ortalis canicollis) is a species of bird in the Cracidae family. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
Subspecies
There are two subspecies:
- O. c. canicollis (Wagler, 1830) - Gran Chaco of Bolivia, Paraguay, and Argentina
- O. c. pantanalensis (Cherrie and Reichenberger, 1921) - southwest Mato Grosso of Brazil
