This article is about the cancer cell PC3. For other uses, see PC3 (disambiguation).
PC3 (PC-3) and DU145 human prostate cancer cell lines are the "classical" cell lines of prostatic cancer.[1] PC3 cells have high metastatic potential compared to DU145 cells which have a moderate metastatic potential.[2]
PC3 cell lines were originally derived from advanced androgen independent bone metastasis|metastasized prostate cancer. PC3 have low testosterone-5-alpha reductase activity and express PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen).
