He played college football at the University of Miami. He attended Roland Park K-8 (then a 6th grade school). He then attended Thomas Jefferson High School. He was a standout in both football and basketball. He attended UM as a tight end and entered the NFL. He won a Super Bowl with the 1995 Dallas cowboys.
