The Nanyang Polytechnic School of Engineering (NYP SEG) in Singapore offers a unique blend of theoretical and practical training for anyone aspiring to be an engineer. Here, you are constantly kept abreast and trained in the latest emerging technologies by a supportive, friendly and experienced staff using the latest technological and computing facilities.
Student will undergo a comprehensive and balanced training in their three years of studies. In the first two years, they will be provided with a broad-based curricula that equips students with fundamental skills. In their third year, they will be given a choice to an area of specialisation that will provide training in value-added development.
To prepare them for the real world of engineering, students will be attached to either a local or an overseas organisation for their third year project work. This joint industrial programme allows students to participate actively in realistic and practical learning experiences.

Additionally, SEG provides courses to meet the specific needs of industries, organisations and the public through a part-time Diploma course, namely Diploma in Precision Engineering, and through various types of short courses, such as PLC programming, AutoCADD, Engineering drawing courses, Unigraphics,Industrial Attachment.
Extracurricular activities
The School has a Robot Football team "Socrates" that won the 5:5 and 11:11 mirosot competitions the 2007 Robot Games.
