Scheduled SIA flights served the following destinations; as of December 2007 the airline had suspended or terminated the routes. The airline transferred several destinations to its regional wing,
SilkAir , while low-cost affiliateTiger Airways took other routes. The
Asian financial crisis resulted in a network-wide review of its routes, and the termination of several, including Cairns, Darwin, Sendai,Hangzhou andBerlin . The effects of the September 11 attacks on New York City also caused a spate of service adjustments and reductions to the network for the next few years, including services toKota Kinabalu ,Kuching ,Macau ,Kathmandu andDurban .The year 2003 saw several more rounds of severe service cut-backs due to the effects from the SARS crisis, as well as the war situation in Iraq. The airline suspended services to
Brussels ,Chicago , Las Vegas,Hiroshima ,Kaohsiung andMauritius in 2003. In 2004, the airline suspended services toVienna andMadrid .Terminated destinations in Africa
