(2007)"Lip Gloss" is a song by rapper Lil Mama. It was released in 2007 and is the first single from her debut album, VYP: Voice of the Young People.
On the weekend ending June 2, the song debuted on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 at number ninety-five. The next week it fell off, but because of its release to iTunes,[citation needed] it re-entered at number twelve in the week ending June 16; it has since peaked at number 10. The song samples "Roxanne's Revenge" by Roxanne Shante.
There is a dance called "The Lip Gloss" that accompanies the song.[3] This song was #56 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Best Songs of 2007.[4]
This song featured primarily as the backing track for the Prada Spring/Summer 2010 womenswear fashion show.
