It was formed with the merger of North Trafford College and South Trafford College in 2007. The college has four branches. The Altrincham branch 53°24′17″N 2°20′57″W / 53.4048°N 2.3493°WCoordinates: 53°24′17″N 2°20′57″W / 53.4048°N 2.3493°W, formerly known as South Trafford College, the Talbot Road branch, formerly known as North Trafford College, and also a technology centre and a music centre. The college has a very high profile and on 14th May 2007, prime minister Tony Blair visited the Altrincham branch.[1][2][3]
In the 2009 Ofsted College inspections Trafford College was graded as Outstanding in five areas.[4]
Notable alumni
A number of celebrities from Manchester have attended Trafford College. Some of the more famous alumni include Ian Brown and Jason Orange who returned to do his A-levels at the Altrincham campus after Take That first split.[5]
