History

Miami Boat Club

Miamiville's low profile as an unincorporated community was a benefit during the Great Depression, when Prohibition outlawed alcohol consumption in the United States. The Miami Boat club operated as a speakeasy during the 1920s and 1930s.[4] In the 1950s and 1960s, King Carson Harrison's NASHY brought notable Jazz musicians to the east side of Cincinnati for private concerts. Artists included bandleaders Count Basie, Woody Herman, and Stan Kenton singers Harry Belafonte, Cab Calloway, Frank Sinatra, and Buddy Rich.[5]
