Yorba Linda Water District

The Yorba Linda Water District is a public agency responsible for water supply and quality for residents of Yorba Linda , California and portions of Placentia, Brea, Anaheim, and neighboring unincorporated Orange County.

It is governed by a locally elected Board of Directors. The members of the Board are directly accountable to the residents of the community. As of 2006, the President of the Board is Paul R. Armstrong. His Vice President is Ric Collett, and the other three members of the board are Michael J. Beverage, William R. Mills, and John W. Summerfield.

Pop culture

In the early 2000s, Internet forum Something Awful started a trend relating to the Yorba Linda Water District. YLWD was constantly referenced, and one of the forums had its name changed to YLWD. Many memes were generated due to this phenomenon, including a picture of Michael J. Beverage with a caption of, "May I offer you a Beverage?" A member of the forum eventually visited the district and had pictures taken with the team, including Mr. Beverage and Arthur C. Korn.
