Stroup is best known for her role as Erin Silver on The CW television series 90210, a spin-off to the original Beverly Hills, 90210. She is also known for starring in such feature length films such as Prom Night and The Hills Have Eyes 2.

Early life
Stroup was born in Anderson, South Carolina, the daughter of Judy and Don Stroup, a senior vice president at Wachovia.[1] She spent her childhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. A friend's mother was a former Miss North Carolina and encouraged Stroup to pursue modeling.[citation needed] She graduated from Providence High School (North Carolina) in 2004. Stroup was offered a scholarship to attend the University of Georgia, but turned it down to pursue an acting career.
Career
Stroup began modeling when she was 15 and acting when she was 18. Her first role was as a guest star on Nickelodeon's popular teen series Unfabulous. Next, Stroup landed a small role in the CBS TV movie Vampire Bats. She played a major role in the TV movie Southern Comfort. Stroup was originally going to play Zoe in I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts.[citation needed] According to IMDb, Stroup had auditioned for a role in the 2008 horror film April Fool's Day. In 2008, she joined the series 90210 as Erin Silver, the younger sister of David Silver and Kelly Taylor.
She co-starred in the 2007 sequel film The Hills Have Eyes 2. In 2008, she played the role of Claire in the remake of Prom Night. She has also appeared in the movie Broken. She later reunited with her Prom Night co-star, Idris Elba in the movie This Christmas.
Stroup has appeared in numerous commercials, including spots for Honda, Velveeta and Target. Her most recognizable commercial appearance was as "the Dentyne Girl" in an advertisement for Dentyne Ice.[citation needed]
She starred in Homecoming, a psychological thriller, alongside Mischa Barton and Matt Long, that was released July 2009.[2]
She was featured in the pilot episode for True Blood, playing Kelly, a sorority girl who is traveling with her boyfriend. The two stop at a convenience store and ask to buy "True Blood," but are scared away when a real vampire asks for true blood with his fangs exposed. Stroup is only seen in the episode for about 10 minutes.
Stroup will feature in Seth MacFarlane's upcoming comedy film Ted. She will play a co-worker of Mila Kunis's, who sleeps with their boss. Ted will mark Stroup's first cinematic outing since starring in the film adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis's The Informers in 2009.[3]
Personal life
She dated her 90210 costar, Dustin Milligan, for almost 2 years before breaking up August 2010.[4]
Stroup currently resides Los Angeles, California.[5]
