The German automobile manufacturing conglomerate, Volkswagen Group has developed a series of shared automobile platforms, primarily based on car classification sizes. They may be used by one or more marques of the Group.

* Volkswagen Group MQB platform ("Modularer Quer-Baukasten", or "modular transverse component system") - for most larger Volkswagen-brand cars
* The Audi "Modularer Längsmotor-Baukasten" (MLB) listed above
* Volkswagen Group MHB platform ("Modularer Heckmotor-Baukasten", or "modular rear-engine component system") - for small cars
* As yet un-named mid-engine platform - for Audi and Lamborghini performance sports cars
