The International Olympic Committee mandates that the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee flag is used, and not the flag of the Republic of China. In the People's Republic of China (PRC), the team is known as Zhongguo Taibei (中国台北队) or, Taipei, China, where China implies the PRC.
