Established 2002(1882) Type Education and Research Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nawaz Students 3000 Location Lahore, Pakistan Campus City Campus, near Civil Lines, Lahore, Ravi Campus, Pattoki and sub-campus, Jhang Affiliations HEC Website University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), located in Lahore, Pakistan, was established in 2002 by upgrading College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, which was established in 1882. The University comprises 5 Faculties, 3 Institutes, 5 Directorates, hospitals, and Library management and administration departments. New campus of UVAS scattered over 900 acres (3.6 km2) in 3 blocks will have main setup in Block A, Block B is dedicated to ruminants, Block C Fisheries and Wildlife. The academic, research and supporting services blocks, dairy and poultry farms, processing units for milk, meat and feed, state of the art Clinical Centrum for all species, libraries, auditorium, sports facilities, 20-bed hospital, school and residences are all under active development.

Dr. Syed Wajid H. Pirzada,an alumnus of College of Veterinary Sciences, Lahore first introduced and then developed the concept of UVAS in to a project.
CVAS Jhnag is a great initiative for quality veterinary education under university of veterinary and animal sciences Lahore, Pakistan permanent building of CVAS Jhang is going to be completed in very near future.
Presently a veterinary teaching hospital is established completely and is working very well. It is handling a number or cases daily.
Permanent CVAS location is near well known Chenab College 13 km Chiniot road Jhang.
In 2020 clinical studies are being conducted at veterinary teaching hospital CVAS Jhang (007)

- The University is offering 5-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and 4-year BS Honors programs in Dairy Technology,Fisheries & Aquaculture, Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, Applied Microbiology, and Poultry Sciences. Postgraduate programs are being offered in 20 disciplines. The number of students has increased from 650 in 2003 to 4000 in 2011.

College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CVAS) Jhang is sub-campus of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore. This college (sub-campus) was established in 2006 as sub-campus of the University of Veterinary and animal sciences (UVAS), Lahore. A piece of 75- acre land was transferred to CVAS located at 8 km on Jhang- Cheniot road near to Chenab College, Jhang. Since the release of Budget from the Provincial Government the Civil work (construction) is going on at the site especially College academic complex, Boys & Girls Hostels, Residences for employees are near to its completion along with the Landscaping and Net work of Mettle roads. The founder Principal of the college is Prof. Dr. Ashiq Hussain Cheema, who is a well known Vet. Pathologist in the Pakistan. Prof. Cheema tried his best for the uplifting of the college during his tenure. After the tenure of Prof. Cheema the college was gifted with another glinting star of the Vet. Pathology Prof. Dr. M. Younus Rana as a Principal. Now the Prof. Rana is leading the institute with his intellectual and innovative thinking. He believes that the college is forehead jewelry of District Jhang. Total reserved seats for admission in CVAS are 62. Only 10% females are allowed to seek admission in this institute in a DVM (5 years composite degree program). This first batch will complete his DVM degree in 2011. The units and labs at CVAS have made progress in adopting and developing better methods for teaching and training to the students and for providing extension services to the livestock farmers. At present the college campus is located at 23-F satellite Town, Jhang while the two senior batches are shifted to permanent campus site for the clinical classes at the satellite outdoor clinics of Department of Clinical Sciences which is working under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Abdul Shakoor. Hopefully, the college will be completely shifted to its permanent site in 2011 and it will be finally functional in all aspects and will be on footsteps to be a future best institute of the country.
