Allama Iqbal Medical College is located at Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.Founder Prime Minister Mr. Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto is the founder of the Allama Iqbal Medical College and he was inaugurated the Allama Iqbal Medical College foundation stone on May 2, 1975 to put forward his vision of highly educated Pakistan to meets the modern world challenges in every aspect oflife. Lahore Medical College. To start with it was located in a portion of the building of the College of Community Medicine at Birdwood Road, Lahore. This college is now housed in its new campus adjacent to the Punjab University (New Campus Faisal Town). The teaching hospital affiliated with this College is Jinnah hospital, which was inaugurated on February 2, 1996.The first Principal of this college was Prof. A. H. Awan.

Today Allama Iqbal Medical Complex has a beautiful campus spread over an area of 103 acres (417,000 m²). The campus includes buildings for Basic and clinical science departments, administration building and six dormitories for students and hospital residents. There is also a nursing school. The college has extensive sports facilities including an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, cricket stadium, track and field and separate gymnasiums for both boys and girls. Faculty housing is adjacent to the main campus. This college was first affiliated to the University of the Punjab, Lahore but as of 2003 it became officially affiliated with University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore.The College Publishes a yearly Magazine by The name, "Shaheen".

The college is recognized by PMDC (Pakistan Medical & Dental Council), and is also approved for Post Graduate Training by Royal Colleges of UK & Ireland & College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan.

Degree programmes offered are M.B.,B.S (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) 5 yr program under UHS, BSc Nursing (4 yr Bachelor Programme in Nursing), FCPS/MRCP/MRCS Training in many specialities & super-specialities.
