History

Northside High School originally opened in 1963 as the second high school to be built in Warner Robins, after the school which bears the town's namesake, Warner Robins High School. The most recent renovation included a new commons area, an expanded lobby, a bigger cafeteria which connects the Vocational Building with the main building, an expansion of the Technology lab and the band room, and most recent, a new gymnasium. Reconstruction ended at some point during the 2007-2008 school year.

Campus

Many cosmetic changes were implemented starting at the end of the 2001 school year. At the end of the 2004-2005 school year, the school began renovation projects to increase the size of the school. Northside was last renovated during 2005 and 2006.

Tabor Academy

In 2004, Tabor Middle School became Tabor Academy at Northside, a 9th grade only school which introduces 9th grade students to the high school atmosphere as other high schools in Houston County have done. The success of Tabor Academy led to other school systems across Georgia adopting the same principle of keeping the 9th grade separate from the other high school students to gently ease them into the high school life.

Football

The Northside Eagles football team have had winning seasons for 12 consecutive years, they have been 146 - 15 from 1998 to present. From 1998 to 2005, the school had five teams go 10-0 in the regular season but falter in the playoffs. But in 2006 and 2007, the school broke through with consecutive 15-0 finishes in Class 4-A, and won two State Championships, led by their All-time Quarterback Marques Ivory, Running Back Tijuan Green, Wide-outs Jacobi Rodriguez (06'), Nick Bass, and Kevyn Cooper ('07), and Linebacker Deonta Jordan (06'). The Head Coach was Conrad Nix who had been at Northside for 24 years (73'-80') and (94'-2010) Coach had his 300th win as a head coach Dec. 4th, 2009 when the Eagles Defeated Newnan (09') in the GHSA Semi-Finals. Northside was in region 1-AAAAA (09') sometimes referred to as the SEC of Georgia.

In 2009 the Eagles had a duo of young Quarterbacks in Briar Van Brunt and Daniel Masteller (Juniors) and a dominant defense that helped them attain wins against Lowndes (#1 in state, #4 in nation)*, Valdosta, and Newnan (#2 in state, #10 in nation)* in the Semi-Finals leading the way for the Eagles to contest for the 5A state championship in 2009, which they lost against Camden County (Dec. 12) at the Georgia Dome (30-3). The Eagles are without their Coach Conrad Nix for the 2010-2011 football season, as he retires after almost twenty-five years as Head Coach. Kevin Kinsler, long time NHS coach and graduate, has been at Northside for two decades, and is now the new Head Coach, the Offensive Coordinator is Mark Stewart (18 years) and the Defensive Coordinator is Kevin Smith (16 years). Northside was moved back down to 4-A due to lack of enough students to remain in the 5-A classification. The last two years they were here they won the State Championship.

This year this season is starting off with no loses and the ninth grade is showin good improvement.

In the concert season, the band performed at the Symphonic Festival, where they played three pieces. Later on in the concert season, the Symphonic players combined with the Concert players to play a concert.
