Neosho County Community College

Neosho County Community College

Neosho County Community College (also called NCCC) is located in Chanute, Kansas, USA and a secondary campus is located in Ottawa, Kansas. NCCC began in 1936 as Chanute junior college for graduates of high school. In 1961, due to state legislators Chanute Junior College included both Neosho County and Franklin County. This is when it was renamed NCCC. Approximately 1800 students attend the NCCC campuses as of 2006.

Campuses

Unlike some other community colleges which don't offer housing, the Chanute Campus of NCCC requires students to live on campus and have a dinner plan. This campus is more designed for full-time traditional students. It is also the larger of the two campuses.

The Ottawa campus is different from Chanute campus in that the former has no housing available. This campus is more designed for part-time nontraditional students, though significant numbers of traditional students also attend this campus. Students at Ottawa High School are offered numerous duel-credit college courses through this campus.
