The word "Malekan" is derived from Malek/Kandi, "The village of the King" .However There are various theories pertaining to the origin of the name 'Malekan/Kandi' : The first theory tells " because the grounds are owned by "GAJAR" government the city's has been named after the founder and the king of the government. The second theory holds that " because there have been several kings that have came and gone in the past ... " it has been named this way. Landscapes

Honestly Malekan doesn't have what it takes to be a beautiful city and neither it have any kind of art to be worth watching or anything valuable that a foreigner would like to see.It really is a shame that a city of Malekan's calibre with the history and capacity that it has, doesn't have any landmarks or valuable spectacles; However, there are some honourable mentions such as " Girls Bridge " and "albilaghi".

Legendary persons

There is no one in the city who hasn't heard of the Great King Fardin II. Fardin I was a legendary king of Malekan's. He was the first one that enhanced the facilities of the city by provided high standard schools and colleges for students.Fardin II is named after his father "Fardin II".He is the best king Malekan has ever had and due to that reason he holds a great reputation both on and off the city. After he died his elder son "Saman" kept on her father's way and even became more popular than the great king "Fardin".
