Legislative district of Maguindanao

The lone Legislative District of Maguindanao, is the representation of the Province of Maguindanao. Maguindanao was part of the representation of Region XII from 1978 to 1984. It first was first granted its own representations in the Regular Batasang Pambansa from 1984 to 1986, where it elected 2 assemblymen at-large. In 1986, it was divided into two legislative districts. In 2007, the 2nd District was renamed as Lone District of Maguindanao and the First District became Lone District of Shariff Kabunsuan and Cotabato City. On July 16, 2008, the Supreme Court voided the creation of Shariff Kabunsuan and will be merged back to Maguindanao. The former Shariff Kabunsuan with Cotabato City will now be called first district will the former lone district will now be the 2nd district.

Pendatun, Guindulungan, Mamasapano, Mangudadatu, Pagagawan, Pagalungan, Paglat, Pandag, Rajah Buayan, Shariff Aguak, South Upi, Sultan sa Barongis, Talayan, Talitay
*Population (2007): 710,829
