South Dixie Highway is the name given to a stretch of U.S. Route 1 south of downtown
Miami, Florida . It is an off-street grid main thoroughfare, as it intersects both avenues and streets on thegrid plan .It becomes South Dixie Highway where the southern terminus of Interstate 95 merges onto U.S. Route 1, just south of downtown Miami. It continues in a southwest direction through the city of Miami until it crosses Southwest 38th Avenue (Brooker Street) where it enters the city of Coral Gables. It continues southwest through Coral Gables until it crosses Red Road (Southwest 57th Avenue) where it enters the city of South Miami.

It continues a short distance through unincorporated Miami-Dade County until it crosses Snapper Creek (Canal C-2), where it is also known as Pinecrest Parkway, and serves as a boundary for the village of Pinecrest to the southeast and unincorporated
Dadeland and Kendall. It continues southwest through Homestead and curves nearly due south where it exits Homestead and enters Florida City at Southwest 328th Street.
It continues south through Florida City. Upon exiting into unincorporated Miami-Dade County, it continues south and after crossing Southwest 424th Street is again only U.S. Route 1, no longer South Dixie Highway.
