The trail is accessed by the
Bright Angel Trail , atIndian Garden .The trail begins at
Indian Garden , Convert|4.5|mi|km|1 from the rim on theBright Angel Trail . The trail heads northeast from the day-use area at Indian Garden and follows about Convert|0.75|mi|km|1 of theTonto Trail before it splits from the Tonto, turning north towards "Plateau Point". Convert|0.75|mi|km|1 from the junction the trail comes to an end at the point."Plateau Point" overlooks the "Granite Gorge" between "Pipe Creek Canyon" and "Monument Canyon". It provides a view of the
Colorado River from about Convert|800|ft|m|-2 above, while still Convert|3000|ft|m|-2 below the south rim.There is no water available anywhere along the trail except from the
trans-canyon pipeline at Indian Garden.References
