The school has consistently received an "excellent" rating on the Ohio State Report Card. The school colors are Kelley green and gold and the school teams are nicknamed the Comets. The school is a member of the Southwestern Conference.
Television Broadcasting
Amherst Steele's Television Broadcasting class annually ranks among the best in the nation.[citation needed] In the 2003-2008 span, Amherst has been received two national Student Emmy awards and 22 Regional Student Emmy awards, as well as several International Communicator Awards.[2]
