The Redhook Ale Brewery NASDAQHOOK, headquartered in Seattle, Washington, is a brewer of craft beers, with operations in Woodinville, Washington (47°44′0.78″N 122°8′54.24″W / 47.73355°N 122.1484°W / 47.73355; -122.1484) and Portsmouth, New Hampshire. It was founded in Seattle in 1981, by Paul Shipman and Gordon Bowker and is owned by the Craft Brewers Alliance.

Beers

Redhook currently produces several styles of beer, marketed under distinct brand names. Redhook's flagship brand is Redhook ESB (5.8% ABV). Redhook also brews Long Hammer IPA (6.5% ABV), Pilsner (5.3% ABV), Copper Hook (5.8% ABV), and its seasonal offerings.

Redhook also produces and sells Widmer Hefeweizen in the midwest and eastern U.S. under a 2003 licensing agreement with Widmer Brothers Brewing Company.[1]

Distribution

Redhook distributes its products through a network of wholesale distributors, Craft Brewers Alliance LLC, and a distribution agreement with Anheuser-Busch InBev, Incorporated. Redhook distributed its products in 48 states, as of March 31, 2008.

Craft Brewers Alliance

Craft Brewers Alliance owns Redhook, Widmer Brothers, and Kona Brewing Company (acquired in 2010).[2] They also had a 38% stake in Goose Island Beer Company (sold to Anheuser Busch in 2011).[3] CBA brands its beers under the names: Widmer Brothers, Redhook and Kona Brewing.

Craft Brewers Alliance Inc, was formed on July 1, 2008,[4][5] with the merger of Redhook and Widmer. CBA acquired Kona Brewing on October 1, 2010. The Craft Brewer's Alliance now publicly trades as NASDAQHOOK.

Ownership stake

Anheuser-Busch InBev owns 32.2%[6] of the business. Brothers Kurt and Rob Widmer, founders of Widmer Brothers beer, own a combined 18%[7] of Craft shares.
