Depeche Mode & Christian Eigner
He has been performing with Depeche Mode's live band since 1997, as drummer, occasional backing vocalist and, more recently, occasional keyboard player on 2009's Tour of the Universe, notably on the encore track "Waiting for the Night". He has played drums on DM's albums Exciter, Playing the Angel and Sounds of the Universe, as well as the non-album single/EP Only When I Lose Myself. He has also co-written Depeche Mode tracks with singer Dave Gahan and programmer Andrew Phillpott since 2005, most notably the Grammy-nominated Depeche Mode single "Suffer Well" together with "Nothing's Impossible" and "I Want It All" from the album Playing the Angel, as well as Gahan's 2007 solo effort Hourglass, which he and Phillpott co-produced. On the 2009 release of "Sounds of the Universe," he co-wrote three tracks with Gahan and Phillpott, called "Hole to Feed", "Come Back" and "Miles Away/The Truth Is".
Compact Space
Compact Space is a band featuring Christian Eigner, Daryl Bamonte and vocalist Florian Kraemmer. They started writing together in 2008 and the first song they wrote, 'Push Push', became the group's first single. It was released on iTunes and Amazon in October 2009 through their own label Elsbeere Recordings. The album and single were produced by Christian Eigner and mixed by Paul PDub Walton.
In June 2011, the trio released their first full length album 'Nameless' in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, in conjunction with Ferryhouse Productions, a company based in Hamburg. In support of the release, an intimate gathering for 250 press and fans was organised at the Planetarium in Hamburg, Germany on June 23. The album was played in full and accompanied by videos projected on the ceiling of the main theatre. In an interview from that evening [1] Florian and Christian explained that their working relationship has existed for many years (Florian provided vocals on Eigner's 'Recovery' amongst other previous collaborations) and Daryl's lyrical contributions added a new dimension to their songwriting. The album is set for release worldwide later in 2011.
The digital "Push Push E.P." was also released on the same date. A second E.P. with a new track and some mixes are also due to be released soon.
Writing for a second album has commenced in August 2011.
