Biography

Formation

Formed in December 2003, hence the name, in North West London, England. Quickly followed by the 2-Track CD Comfort In A Surrounding Space and several tours the band gained momentum. After a few different member changes the band settled on its final line up of (Daniel Leigh - Vocals, Phil Kinman - Lead Guitar, Robb Wybrow - Guitar/Vocals, Rob Turnbridge - Bass and Frankie Torpey - Drums). Days in December were the product of a varied pool of influences, specializing in soaring vocal lines, heavy and melodic guitar work and rock. Their tuneful nature and touches of the dark side attracted fans from many different rock persuasions.

Progression

Days in December racked up tours alongside Funeral for a Friend (whose drummer Ryan Richards lent his tonsils to the track Last Chance Before The Storm), Bullet For My Valentine, SikTh, Beloved, Dead Poetic, Armor for Sleep, as well as notching up stage time on the 2005 Taste Of Chaos UK leg, Full Ponty 2006 and the National Adventure Sports Show.

They landed Kerrang Single of the Week for E.P. Countless Hours Making Waves, along with praise from all directions, as well as receiving a special guest spot interview on Iron Maidens' Bruce Dickinson radio show.

Days in December's legacy continued with the release of mini album Deleted Scenes, released on the 11th September 2006 via Deck Cheese Records. The E.P. gave glimpses of a more mature sound from the band whilst still retaining the appeal of the first two releases and was well received by fans and critics alike, securing a second successive KKKK review from Kerrang Magazine.

Final Tour

Days In December toured the UK for the final time in the latter half of 2007 including dates at Cardiff Barfly, Camden Underworld and their final gig at Southampton Joiners. The band came to an end soon afterwards, with the closing of their website and an announcement on MySpace.
