- Beitstad
Beitstad is a village and former municipality in
Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway. It was created in 1837 as Beitstadformannskapsdistrikt .The municipality of
Namdalseid was merged with Beitstad in 1846. OnJanuary 1 1904 the district of Namdalseid was separated from Beitstad (again) to create a municipality of its own. The split left Beitstad with 2,946 inhabitants. OnJuly 1 1913 another split took place, leavingMalm as a separate municipality and Beitstad with a population of 1,934.On
1 January 1964 Beitstad merged withEgge , Kvam,Ogndal ,Sparbu ,Steinkjer and Stod to form the enlarged Steinkjer municipality. Before the merger Egge had a population of 2,563.
