Stod is a former municipality in
Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway.It was created in 1837 as Stod
formannskapsdistrikt . On23 January 1858 the city ofSteinkjer was separated from Stod to constitute a separate administrative unit. Later on the rural districtsEgge (1 January 1869 ) and Kvam (1 January 1909 ) were separated from Stod, leaving Stod with a population of 934.On
1 January 1964 Stod was incorporated into Steinkjer municipality, along with Egge, Kvam,Ogndal ,Beitstad andSparbu . Prior to the merger Stod had a population of 1,268.References
