Sciarra was the #3 quarterback behind
Drew Olson and Matt Moore. He comes from a long line of Bruins. His mom, dad (UCLA All-American QB John Sr.), sister, cousin, four aunts and grandfather all went to UCLA. Sciarra appeared in five games a QB in 2002, going 5-of-12 for 75 yards and 1 TD on the year. He played the 4th quarter at Cal whenCory Paus and Drew Olson were injured and left the game, throwing a 14-yard TD pass toMarcedes Lewis against USC, the first of his career.At the end of the 2003 season, Sciarra transferred to
Wagner College .Wagner College Career
While playing for Wagner College (a coeducational private
liberal arts college located onStaten Island inNew York City ), Sciarra broke multiple school records. Wagner is aDivision I-AA school, playing in theNortheast Conference . As a senior in 2005, Sciarra became the first ever NEC player to throw for over 3,000 yards in a season. He was also named an Academic All Star by the Division I-AA Athletic Directors Association. Sciarra, as a sociology major, earned a 3.49GPA . He was honored as Wagner's most valuable player.ources
