Nikolayevsk (Russian: Никола́евск) is a town and the administrative center of Nikolayevsky District of Volgograd Oblast, Russia, located on the left (eastern) shores of the Volga River. Population: 15,081 (2010 Census preliminary results);[1] 16,125 (2002 Census);[2] 16,469 (1989 Census).[3]

It was founded in 1747 as the khutor of Dmitriyev, which was reorganized into a sloboda in 1794 and renamed Nikolayevskaya sloboda. It was granted town status and renamed Nikolayevsk in 1967.
